The recent arrival in India of UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting demonstrates the two countries' strong and enduring relationship. Over the years, UAE-India bilateral relations have expanded across sectors, with a focus on strengthening cultural ties and economic partnerships.

The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement is one of the most notable areas of collaboration between the UAE and India (CEPA). This agreement has allowed both countries to increase trade and investment while also creating opportunities for businesses on both sides. Furthermore, cultural ties between the two countries are strong, with a large Indian diaspora in the UAE and many Emirati tourists visiting India each year.

In recent years, the UAE and India have shared a vision for clean and green energy, renewable energy, and zero-carbon goals. The leaderships of both nations have been actively pursuing various initiatives towards this goal. The UAE has started several renewable energy projects, including the world's largest solar power plant in Abu Dhabi, and India has set an ambitious target of 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

The G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Delhi has a lot on its agenda, and it's great to see the UAE at the forefront of it. The presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan will amplify discussions on global health, climate change, and economic growth. The UAE has been a vocal supporter of global health initiatives, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has also made significant contributions to climate change mitigation. The UAE's leadership on these issues is commendable, and it serves as a model for other countries to emulate.
